¹³ The sons of Jacob answered Shechem and his father Hamor deceitfully, for they had dishonored their sister Dinah. ¹⁴ They told them, “We cannot do this; we cannot give our sister to a man who is not circumcised. This would dishonor us. ¹⁵ We will only grant your request if you become like us, if all of you circumcise your male members.
